The cottage is situated in a recreation area in Štôla - Nižné Hágy, right under the Gerlachov peak (Gerlachovský štít).
Solar orientation, closeness of woods, calm and a lot of snow in winter makes it ideal for summer and winter holidays, but also for off-peak convalesce stays at discount prices.

The presence of three additional national parks in neighborhood, thermal baths, newly-opened AquaCity in Poprad, richness of cultural and historical remembrances of region Spiš, ice and stalactite caves, underlines its importance in European scale.

From the village you can undertake walking, cycling and skiing tours. The nearest skiing centres are in Lopušná valley (Lopušná dolina - 6 km), Štrbské pleso (8 km) and Liptovská Teplička (20 km).

Maintained trails for cross-country skiing are situated directly in the village.
